Dear Reading Fans,
Sometimes I feel being a Dyslexia Specialist is incredibly easy. At the least, it's very enjoyable for me.
Working with kids? - Completely Awesome
Kids with "learning challenges"? - I just don't see a challenge. All I see is a different way to strategize. No problem.
Listening to people read? - Love it!
Being patient? - I don't see a problem.
I am lucky, but only 100% of the time.
The thing is, the #1 predictor of reading success is attributed to:
Phonemic Awareness and Manipulation
A fancy way of saying:
Changing sounds in words.
This is such an important skill that it comes before actual reading!
When a teacher tells a parent to read more with your kid for success, I'm not saying that's a bad idea, but it's also not correct.
We need to do something differently!
Different instruction is going to create a different outcome.
My Sound Juggling Program is DIFFERENT, and that is why it will help your child learn to read.
Different = good :-)
