Mindfulness for children is currently an important strategy in education. Right alongside mindfulness is a good friend, meditation. Meditation helps kids learn how to focus their minds on one idea or concept at a time.
In our fast paced society we are prone to watch TV, answer phone calls, we have the background noise of cars honking, traffic, neighbors voices, and other background noises, not to mention lights and other visual disturbances. We are literally overstimulated 24/7.
We must learn to calm the mind.
It is necessary in order to learn.
